Abstract：With the rapid development of the Internet and the wide spread of mobile communications，the Internet is playing an increasingly important role in people’s social life.However，the huge increase in Internet users has brought new problems to ISPs.The ISP must be able to meet the needs of all users and improve the quality of service on the network，so as to stand out in the increasingly fierce competition.So for ISPs，traffic engineering is a great tool to achieve this goal.This paper summarizes and analyzes some existing traffic engineering schemes，and divides these schemes into traditional IP networks，new SDN networks and hybrid SDN networks according to the types of applicable networks.This paper introduces the research achievements at home and abroad，expounds the advantages and disadvantages of each program，summarizes and analyzes the main contributions and shortcomings of these programs，and discusses the further research direction.
