Abstract:This paper proposes a forward error correction compensation strategy based on frame rate control in cloud gaming to solve the problem of the poor quality of service caused by the frame dropping phenomenon in wireless network environment.Firstly,the frame rate control algorithm is proposed to make the game running on the same GPU satisfy the service level protocol and to ensure that the FEC encoding required frames.On the basis of sufficient frame rate,we put forward the FEC compensation algorithm to make up for the lost frames in clients and adjust the number of redundant packets according to the client state of the network,and to ensure that the source data frames can be repaired.The experimental results show that this strategy can solve the problem caused by the lost frames,improve the quality of cloud gaming service;and make full use of GPU resources,reduce the cost of cloud gaming operators.
